GOD RULES

Psalm 145:10-13 New Living Translation

"All of your works will thank you, Lord,
and your faithful followers will praise you.
 They will speak of the glory of your kingdom;
they will give examples of your power.
They will tell about your mighty deeds
and about the majesty and glory of your reign.
For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom.
    You rule throughout all generations…”

1 Peter 5:7 New Living Translation

"Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

YOUR JOURNAL:

Describe God and why He deserves your faithfulness and praise.

MEDITATION:

When we come to God in prayer, it is good to remember He has never relinquished His rule over His creations in heaven and earth. His kingdom is everlasting. He has wisdom and power beyond our understanding.

We never need to fear when there is chaos all around us. God hears our prayers; He cares about us; He is always in control; He still does mighty deeds. Let’s choose to praise and obey Him, believing He is more than able to take care of us in the storms of our lives.

 PRAYER:

Ruler of Heaven and Earth, I can never thank you and praise You enough. Your majesty and glory are too great for me to comprehend. Please guide me to be your faithful follower who tells others about how wonderful You are. Amen.

TAKE AWAY:

Pray. Don’t worry. God is always in control.

More on God's Rules

Understanding God's Nature:

  • Omnipotence: God's limitless power is evident in the creation and ongoing sustenance of the universe. This power is not just a display of might but also of the infinite care involved in crafting each aspect of existence.
  • Omniscience: God’s knowledge encompasses past, present, and future. This total understanding implies that nothing is beyond His wisdom, assuring us that our lives are part of a well-orchestrated divine plan.
  • Omnipresence: God's presence in every moment and place provides a comforting assurance that we are never alone. His guidance is a constant, even when it feels imperceptible.

Reasons for Faithfulness and Praise:

  • Unconditional Love: God's love is not based on our actions or worthiness. This unconditional love warrants our unwavering faith and praise.
  • Grace and Forgiveness: Despite our imperfections, God offers grace and forgiveness, inviting us to a life of spiritual renewal and growth.
  • Hope and Peace: In a world often filled with uncertainty and turmoil, faith in God offers a peace that surpasses all understanding, anchoring us in hope.

The Constancy of God's Rule:

  • In an ever-changing world, the constancy of God’s rule is a source of stability. His eternal kingdom, as depicted in Psalm 145, is not just a distant reality but an active force in our daily lives.
  • Meditating on God’s unchanging nature provides comfort. His promises and character remain steadfast, irrespective of our circumstances.

A Personal Connection to the Divine:

  • “Heavenly Father, Your majesty and glory are beyond my understanding, yet You invite me into a personal relationship with You. Help me to recognize Your hand in the minutiae of my life and to feel Your presence in every moment. Teach me to rely on Your wisdom, and guide me to share Your love and grace with others. Amen.”

Living in God's Assurance:

  • Trust Over Worry: In a world that often encourages self-reliance, turning our worries over to God is a radical act of trust. It acknowledges His sovereignty over our lives and the world.
  • The Power of Prayer: Prayer is not just a request for intervention but a practice of aligning our will with God's. It's a powerful tool for transformation, both of the world and of ourselves.
  • Recognizing God's Control: Acknowledging God's control doesn't negate our responsibility to act but instead provides a framework for action grounded in faith and guided by divine wisdom.

Incorporating these expanded thoughts can deepen the spiritual journey, offering more profound insights into the nature of faith, the character of God, and our relationship with the divine.
