Yes, there is seniors texting humor ! Please not texting and driving!

Even seniors have 3G and 4G cell phones, and texting has now reached every generation.  Naturally with texting comes ‘texting abbreviations’  like BFF, WTF, LOL.  However most of the common abbreviations are straight out of high school and have no place in our adult caregiver vocabulary.

CUATSC because GGLKI and I DWI translates

See you at the Senior Center because I gotta go, my laxative is kicking in and I don’t want to drive while incontinent.

But fear not, someone has developed a new set of texting abbreviations that fit our lifestyles. So here are some codes for the caregivers and seniors amongst us:

  • ATD – At the Doctor’s
  • BFF – Best Friends Funeral
  • BTW – Bring the Wheelchair
  • CBM – Covered by Medicare
  • CUATSC – See You at the Senior Center
  • DWI – Driving While Incontinent
  • FWBB – Friend with Beta Blockers
  • FWIW – Forgot Where I Was
  • FYI – Found Your Insulin
  • GGPBL – Gotta Go, Pacemaker Battery Low
  • GHA – Got Heartburn Again
  • HGBM – Had Good Bowel Movement
  • IMHO – Is My Hearing-Aid On?
  • LMDO – Laughing My Dentures Out
  • OMMR – On My Massage Recliner
  • OMSG – Oh My! Sorry, Gas
  • ROFL…CGU – Rolling on the Floor Laughing…Can’t get Up!
  • TTYL – Talk to You Louder
  • WAITT – Who Am I Talking To?
  • WTFA – Wet the Furniture Again
  • WTP – Where’s the Prunes
  • WWNO – Walker Wheels Need Oil
  • GGLKI – Gotta Go, Laxative Kickin in!

As baby boomers grow older, this trend will continue to grow. I am sure there will be more abbreviations to make this list grow! And the seniors texting humor will go on.
